Library Cards

Free library cards to Belmont residents over six, those who own property within but live outside Belmont, attend Belmont schools, or who work in Belmont. All others may purchase or renew a card for $40 annually.

Apply for a library card in person with proof of address.

Computers

Internet access computers are available for public use as well as wireless Internet for your own device.

The library also offers print/copy/fax services.

  • Color prints/copies $.25/page
  • Black & White copies/prints are $.10/page
  • Faxes are $1.00/page

Databases

Ancestry Library Edition is available inside the library building.

Novelist Plus is available through the NH State Library.

Interlibrary Loans

Looking for a title we don’t have? If you are a Belmont Public Library card holder, we will attempt to borrow it from another library for you through a reciprocal arrangement with other libraries to share materials not found in our own collection.

Attraction Passes

The library has free or reduced price passes to area attractions and museums.  See the list below, along with details for each. Please call ahead to make sure your passes are available for the day you’d like them.


McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center

2 passes available per day, reserve by phone or email and pick up at the library. 

Free admission to the Exhibit Galleries for four people. There is an additional charge for planetarium shows. Two passes per day.

Passes are not accepted during special events such as AerospaceFest, nor are they accepted for member only events.

Squam Lake Science Center

This pass is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

1 library pass per day, up to four discounted admissions per pass. $15/ticket  during the 2026 trail season.

The 2026 trail season is 5/1/26-11/1/26. Open daily 9:30am-5pm. Last admission is at 3:30pm. The library pass may not be used by school groups or other group organizations.

Library Member Passes are not valid on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Is it our first of two annual NH Days where all NH residents can purchase an admissions ticket for $8 per person.

Squam Lake Science Center

Mount Washington

This pass is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

2026 Season Mid-May to Mid-October 

For the Mount Washington Observatory: Free weather station tour for family with two adults and kids (17 and under). No tours on Wednesdays.  

Free access to Extreme Mount Washington Museum on the summit. (space might be limited and advance reservations are recommended.  

Free access to the Gladys Brooks Memorial Library all year (appointments by request)

For the Mount Washington Auto Road: One passenger in each “Drive Yourself” Vehicle rides free. 

JUNE 2026 ONLY: Buy 1 get 1 adult tickets for the Cog Railway. Mon-Fri trains only.

NH State Parks

This pass is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

The NH State Parks Library pass is valid for two adults and up to four dependents to enter any day-use state park for free.

The pass is not valid at Hampton Beach State Park, Wallis Sands State Beach, the Flume Gorge, or the Cannon Mountain Tramway, and cannot be used for camping or parking meters.

Reservation required with park pass:

Visitors with pre-paid or discounted access to NH State Parks are encouraged to make online reservations as well. When making a reservation you can indicate that you are a pass/parks plate holder on your order details page and you will not be charged the day-use parking free. There will still be a $1 transaction fee for using the online reservation system. This does not guarantee space will be available when you arrive at the park.

Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum

This pass is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum Library pass is valid for two guests. Children under six are free. 

Valid for museum admission only

From May 1st to October open seven days a week. 

November to April open Fridays and Saturdays form 10am-4pm. Free guided tours at 10:30 and 1:30pm

NH State Parks

Belmont Public Library Patron Conduct

  • Patrons are requested not to eat in the Library. Covered drinks are acceptable. No tobacco products (including vapor products) may be used in the Library.
  • Public computer use is 30 minutes. Time will be automatically extended unless someone is waiting.
  • Photocopier, fax, and computers are turned off 10 minutes before closing.
  • Language or conduct considered profane, obscene or abusive will not be tolerated, including behavior that is disruptive or disturbs other patrons or Library staff.
  • A parent or adult guardian must accompany children under 10 years of age.
  • We are happy to give Library cards to children 6 years old and older, but children under 14 years of age must have the Card application signed by a parent/legal guardian.
  • No pets are allowed inside the Library during open hours.
