Summer Reading Pizza Party!
Fizz... Boom... Crafternoon!
July was a very busy and very exciting month at Belmont Public Library!
On July 10 we held a ceremony and Open House to commemorate the 86th anniversary of the library building, and to unveil a National Register of Historic Places plaque donated by the Belmont Heritage Commission. We also welcomed new Library Director Becky Albert, who was appointed in October of last year. View the complete program for the event: Belmont Library Heritage Program. For images of the newspaper coverage and old photos of the library and downtown Belmont, click on the Recent Event Photos page on the left side of the screen. Thank you to everyone who attended the event for helping to mark this special occasion in the library's history.
Fizz Boom Read!, our 2014 Summer Reading Program, is well underway, with over 120 participants! Magician Peter Boie kicked off the summer on July 7th by entertaining approximately 100 children and adults on the library lawn with his confounding "magic for non-believers!” To see some pictures from Peter’s performance, and other summer events, visit the Recent Event Photos page.
Peter Boie’s performance was supported by a Kids, Books and the Arts grant from the New Hampshire State Library. Funding for Kids, Books and the Arts is provided by the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation, CHILIS, Cogswell Benevolent Trust, and is supported in part by a grant from the NH State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts as well as funds administered by the NH State Library and provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
